Visit the Friends’ Cinco de Mayo Booth

Please visit the booth by the Friends of the Taylor Mesilla Historic Site during the Mesilla celebrations of Cinco de Mayo (May 5th). The annual event will be held on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3, on the Mesilla Plaza. The Friends booth will offer a fun activity for children and adults – making “papel picados” which are perforated tissue papers that are cut into intricate designs and traditionally hung as Mexican-folklore banners. The activity is free. In addition, the Friends’ gift shop — The Barela Store — will also be open during the celebrations.
