The Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site, established in November 2025,  is a unique gift from the J. Paul Taylor and Mary Daniels Taylor family.  What was once the Taylor family home and adjoining properties, is now the state’s newest museum welcoming visitors from around the world to explore and understand the history, culture, heritage, and architecture of Mesilla, New Mexico and the Borderland.

Historic Mesilla, one of the jewels of Southern New Mexico, is a popular destination for visitors and locals alike, offering a unique flavor of the area’s culture, traditions, and heritage. The Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site is located directly on the Mesilla Plaza, facing the heart of the village, and includes the Taylor-Mesilla Museum, the Reynolds Store Visitor’s Center, an Interpretive Center, and The Barela Store gift shop.
